Community Food Bank of San Benito County

There are a number
of ways you can help

 

1. Volunteer:

Volunteers are always welcome anywhere from 1hour to 6 days a week. You can volunteer your time in several areas; warehouse, distribution, pickup at local farms, gleaning (seasonal), making deliveries, filling bags, marketing, and writing.

        Volunteers NEEDED for:

1- Office - Data Entry - Monday through Saturday 8 am to 5 pm.
Choose your schedule.

2.  Driver's to pick up and deliver produce

3.  Driver's to deliver to house bound recipients

    Paper and Handle-Bags

    Every grocery handle paper bag and plastic grocery bag you donate means that many less Community Pantry has to purchase.  The money we save can go to purchasing food or other more helpful uses.

  • 2. Donate: 
  • Due to the current economic conditions we are desperately in need of monetary donations.  Without continued support we will not be able to buy food to supply our clients.  We DO NOT want to turn anyone away.
  •  

  • Donations are needed year round, they are especially needed now due to a 60% increase in bags of food provided per month.  We accept donations in the form of food, money, or volunteer work.

  •  Donation of clean and usable items to be sold in our new Thrift Shop "Pat's Place".  Call for hours to drop off your items at 637-5500.  Pat's Place is located at 101 Fifth St. Hollister.  Grand opening is July 1st.

    • Other possibilities:
          -Preparing a Will?? Leave a gift for a non-profit that
      makes a positive difference -- Community Pantry.
          -Consider using assets for your charitable gift
      (stocks, bonds, CD's, real estate, or name us a beneficiary of
      your pension plan, insurance policy or IRA.) Remember, there may be tax advantages!
          -Make memorial gifts for loved ones and encourage family
      and friends to follow your example. 

        

    3. Refer: 

    If you know of a family that has fallen on hard times, please refer them to the Community Pantry.
